Thanks to forged documents provided by the movement, Yoheved arrived in Budapest in 1943 and took part in illegal activities. She assisted refugees from Slovakia. After the German invasion on 19.3.1944, Yoheved procured authentic documents from the Population Registry in Budapest. Yoheved worked with a friend, Nesher Adler, in bringing members of the movement from country towns to the capital city. In the summer of 1944, with a group of friends, she tried to cross the border into Romania within the framework of the tiyul. They were all caught. All her friends’ efforts to release them failed. Yoheved was deported to Auschwitz where she perished.
